Author
BENJAMIN CROSS is an archaeologist and writer based in South Wales, UK. He has been lucky enough to explore some of the world's most spectacular ancient sites, from the temples of Cambodia to the Andean cloud forest cities of Peru, from the burial sites of the Tibetan plateau to the Maori strongholds of New Zealand. He has excavated many fascinating archaeological sites across the UK and is now Principal Heritage Consultant at a global environmental consultancy.
Cross published his first work of fiction, a short story entitled 'The Changing Room', in the prestigious Mays Anthology, the publication that launched the career of award-winning author Zadie Smith. He followed-up with the publication of a second short story - 'Enclosure' - in the following year's anthology, becoming one of only a small number of authors to have had prose selected for publication in the Mays two years running. He was appointed Associate Editor the following year.
Written whilst working full-time as a professional archaeologist, Cross's first novel 'Colony' took four years to complete. Once finished, the fast-paced action-thriller gained him representation from a literary agency, and soon made its way onto the desks of the world's top publishers. In April 2020 it was accepted for publication by Book Guild Publishing.
Colony was published in January 2021 and is available now!!
